Overview
For project 1 I made a short children's book that shows how animals and people interact with one another as they move into cities.
Global Studies
For global studies I decided to include information about how culture and religion impacts the ways animals are treated as they move into cities due to deforestation. I chose to look at three different cities, Mumbai, India, Jodhpur, India and Harar Ethiopia where leopards, monkeys and spotted hyenas have made their way in. Each of the cities has a different animal invading and their treatment vastly differs. In Jodhpur, India hanuman langurs are all over the city and temples, they are treated with a great deal of respect by the people and are often fed by them. This is because the monkeys are viewed as a reincarnation of the Hanuman, a monkey god from Hinduism.
Art
For art I made the illustrations for the picture book. I also made a couple of pop ups in the book. I had to learn how to make pop ups and practice how to do them. I also had to plan out and practice drawling the illustrations in the book.

English
For english I wanted to make a picture book. I had to determine what I wanted the audience to be and plan the book accordingly. I ended up with a book with three short stories inside that follow three young child from each city, it shows how the animals have impacted life in the city and the kids feelings towards them.
